The national MOVES III programme closed to new applications at the end of 2025, and there is currently no direct state grant for home charging points. In 2026 you can still deduct 15% of the installation cost of a charging point in your income tax return (IRPF), on a maximum base of €4,000. Check the current conditions with your tax adviser.

It is possible, but rarely the best use of a home battery: a car can empty a typical 5–15 kWh battery in an hour or two, leaving nothing for the house in the evening. We usually set up the system so the car charges from daytime solar surplus and the battery is kept for the home at night.

Yes. With a smart charger and an energy meter, the car charges from the solar power your home is not using. It works best when the car is parked at home during the day. You can choose solar-only charging, or solar topped up from the grid to keep a minimum charging speed.

Yes. Under article 17.5 of Spain’s Horizontal Property Law, a charger for private use in your own parking space needs only prior written notice to the community, not a vote. You pay for the charger, the installation and the electricity, and the work must comply with the electrical regulations (ITC-BT-52).

Most homes on the Costa del Sol have a single-phase supply, which allows up to 7.4 kW, enough to add about 40 km of range per hour and fully charge most cars overnight. An 11 kW charger needs a three-phase supply and a car that accepts 11 kW AC. We check both before recommending a charger.

Yes. The European Wall Connector uses a standard Type 2 connector and charges most electric vehicles. The most advanced app features are for Tesla cars, but other EVs charge normally.

After a free survey and a written quote, a standard home installation usually takes 1–2 days, including the dedicated circuit, protections, energy meter, app setup and a test charge with your car. Longer cable runs or community garages can take a little more time.

The charger has its manufacturer warranty, which depends on the brand and model (for example, 4 years for the Tesla Wall Connector in residential use). On top of that, KiDi Solar gives a 5-year warranty on the installation work, and as a local installer we handle any warranty claims for you.

Not always. A charger with dynamic load balancing reduces its charging power whenever the house needs more, so the main switch does not trip. In many homes this avoids raising the contracted power and the higher fixed monthly charge that comes with it. We review your bills and recommend the cheaper option.
