About This Solar Installation in Guadalmina, Marbella
This residential photovoltaic installation was completed by KiDi Solar in Guadalmina, Marbella, on Spain’s Costa del Sol. The system was designed specifically around the property’s electricity consumption, available roof space and the client’s objective of reducing dependence on electricity purchased from the grid.
Following a technical assessment of the property, KiDi Solar designed a 10 kWp hybrid photovoltaic system using 20 LONGi 500 W solar panels together with a Growatt hybrid inverter and 10 kWh battery.
The battery allows part of the surplus solar electricity generated during the day to be stored and used later, including during the evening when photovoltaic production decreases.
What the Homeowner Wanted to Achieve
The objective was to create a complete home energy system rather than simply install photovoltaic panels.
- Reduce electricity purchased from the grid
- Use Marbella’s strong solar resource to generate electricity on-site
- Store surplus daytime production for evening consumption
- Increase solar self-consumption
- Increase the villa’s energy independence
- Monitor solar production and household energy use
- Prepare the property for long-term energy requirements
Solar Panels, Inverter & Battery Installed
20 × LONGi 500 W Solar Panels
The photovoltaic array consists of twenty LONGi 500 W modules, providing a total installed solar capacity of 10 kWp.
The array layout was designed around the available installation area, orientation and solar exposure of the property.
Growatt Hybrid Inverter
Model: [EXACT MODEL]
The hybrid inverter manages electricity flows between the photovoltaic array, household consumption, battery storage and the electricity grid.
10 kWh Battery Storage
Model: [EXACT BATTERY]
The battery stores available surplus photovoltaic production so that solar electricity can be used later when household demand exceeds current solar generation.
How This Hybrid Solar System Works
During daylight hours, electricity generated by the solar panels is used first to supply electrical loads inside the property.
When photovoltaic production exceeds immediate household demand, available surplus electricity can charge the 10 kWh battery. The stored electricity can then be used later when solar production falls below household consumption.

Solar Installation Process in Guadalmina
1. Property & Roof Assessment
Before installation, KiDi Solar assessed the available roof area, solar exposure, electrical infrastructure and suitable locations for the inverter and battery equipment.
2. Solar Mounting Structure
The photovoltaic mounting structure was installed according to the final module layout and roof configuration.
3. Installation of 20 LONGi Solar Panels
Twenty LONGi 500 W photovoltaic modules were installed to create the 10 kWp solar array.
4. Growatt Hybrid Inverter Installation
The Growatt hybrid inverter was installed and configured to manage photovoltaic generation, household electricity demand and battery charging.
5. 10 kWh Solar Battery Installation
A 10 kWh battery storage system was integrated with the hybrid inverter to increase solar self-consumption.
6. Testing & Commissioning
After installation, the photovoltaic system was electrically connected, configured and tested before final commissioning and monitoring setup.
Technical Details
Expected Solar Production in Marbella
The 10 kWp photovoltaic system was designed to generate a significant share of the property’s annual electricity requirements directly from solar energy.
Battery storage can increase self-consumption by allowing part of the electricity generated during periods of high solar production to be used later in the day.
Estimated annual production should be based on the final installation orientation, inclination, shading and PVGIS calculation. Actual production varies according to weather conditions, system configuration and site conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Solar Panels in Guadalmina, Marbella
Below are answers to common questions from homeowners considering solar panel installation, battery storage and hybrid solar systems in Guadalmina and Marbella.
Are solar panels worth installing in Guadalmina, Marbella?
Solar panels can be a strong option for villas and residential properties in Guadalmina due to the high level of solar exposure on the Costa del Sol. The actual financial benefit depends on the property’s electricity consumption, roof orientation, available installation area, electricity tariff and the size of the photovoltaic system.
How many solar panels does a villa in Guadalmina need?
The number of solar panels depends primarily on the property’s annual electricity consumption and available installation area. For this Guadalmina project, KiDi Solar installed 20 LONGi 500 W solar panels, providing a total photovoltaic capacity of 10 kWp.
How much electricity can a 10 kW solar system produce in Marbella?
Annual production depends on roof orientation, inclination, shading, equipment efficiency and local weather conditions. For every KiDi Solar project, expected photovoltaic production should be calculated using the actual property configuration and solar production data rather than assuming the same output for every 10 kW installation.
Can solar panels in Marbella be combined with battery storage?
Yes. A compatible hybrid photovoltaic system can combine solar panels with battery storage. In this Guadalmina installation, a 10 kWh battery was integrated with the Growatt hybrid inverter. Surplus solar electricity generated during the day can be stored and used later when photovoltaic production is lower.
What size battery is suitable for a solar installation in Marbella?
Battery capacity should be selected according to household electricity consumption, solar system size, evening energy demand and the homeowner’s energy objectives. This project uses 10 kWh of battery storage together with a 10 kWp photovoltaic system. Other properties may require a smaller or larger battery.
Can KiDi Solar add a battery to an existing solar system in Guadalmina?
In many cases, battery storage can be added to an existing photovoltaic installation. Compatibility depends on the existing inverter, electrical configuration and battery technology. KiDi Solar can assess an existing solar installation in Guadalmina or Marbella and recommend a suitable battery solution.
Does KiDi Solar handle solar installation and legalisation in Marbella?
KiDi Solar provides turnkey solar panel installation in Marbella, including system design, photovoltaic installation, hybrid inverter and battery integration, electrical protections, commissioning, monitoring configuration and support with the required documentation and legalisation process.
