Preguntas frecuentes sobre la instalación de paneles solares en Marbella

Are solar tax benefits or incentives available in Mijas?

Solar installations in Mijas may qualify for municipal tax benefits or other incentive programmes when available and when the applicable requirements are met. Depending on current regulations, these may include benefits associated with taxes such as IBI or ICIO. Conditions, percentages and application periods can change, so eligibility should be checked for each project. KiDi Solar can provide the technical installation documentation required for applicable applications.

Can I charge an electric car with solar panels at my home in Mijas?

Yes. A home EV charger can be integrated with a solar installation so that electricity generated by the panels contributes to charging your electric vehicle. Compatible energy management systems can prioritise surplus solar production, while dynamic load balancing can manage EV charging alongside other electrical loads. KiDi Solar installs integrated solar, battery storage and EV charging solutions throughout Mijas.

Can solar panels and batteries provide backup power during a blackout in Mijas?

Yes, when the solar installation is specifically designed for backup operation. Standard grid-connected solar systems normally disconnect during a power outage for safety reasons. Backup electricity requires compatible hybrid equipment, battery storage and an EPS or backup function. KiDi Solar can design solar and battery systems in Mijas to keep selected circuits or suitable electrical loads operating during a blackout.

Do roof orientation, hills and shading affect solar panels in Mijas?

Yes. Roof orientation, inclination and shading are important when designing a solar installation in Mijas, especially for hillside properties around Mijas Pueblo and residential areas with surrounding buildings or vegetation. Partial shading can affect solar production if it is not considered during system design. KiDi Solar evaluates roof geometry, orientation, available space and shading before selecting the panel layout and system configuration.

How can I get a free solar installation quote in Mijas?

KiDi Solar provides free solar assessments and personalised quotes for homes, villas and businesses across Mijas, including Mijas Pueblo, Mijas Costa and La Cala de Mijas. We evaluate electricity consumption, roof space, orientation, shading and requirements such as battery storage, backup power or EV charging. Our turnkey service includes system design, solar panel installation, technical documentation, legalisation, monitoring and after-sales support.

How much can I save with solar panels in Mijas?

Solar savings in Mijas depend on annual electricity consumption, solar system size, daytime self-consumption, electricity tariffs and whether battery storage is installed. Properties with swimming pools, air conditioning and other daytime electrical loads can often use a significant share of their solar production directly. KiDi Solar designs each system around the property’s consumption profile to maximise self-consumption and reduce grid electricity use.

How much does solar panel installation cost in Mijas?

The cost of solar panel installation in Mijas depends on the required system capacity, number and type of solar panels, inverter, roof conditions, electrical work and whether battery storage is included. Villas with swimming pools, air conditioning, heat pumps or EV charging may require larger systems. KiDi Solar provides a free assessment and personalised solar quote based on the property’s actual electricity consumption and energy requirements.

How often should solar panels be cleaned in Mijas?

Solar panels generally require limited maintenance, but periodic inspection and cleaning can help maintain efficient production. Dust, pollen, bird droppings and, in coastal areas, sea salt can accumulate on the panels during dry periods. The appropriate cleaning frequency depends on the property’s location, surroundings and panel angle. KiDi Solar provides professional solar panel cleaning, inspection and maintenance services in Mijas.

Is solar battery storage worth it in Mijas?

A solar battery can increase self-consumption by storing surplus electricity generated during the day for use in the evening or at night. Battery storage can be particularly useful for homes with significant evening consumption or owners seeking greater energy independence. The appropriate battery capacity depends on consumption, solar production and backup requirements. KiDi Solar installs hybrid solar systems and compatible battery storage solutions in Mijas.

What permits and legalisation are required for solar panels in Mijas?

Solar installations in Mijas require the appropriate technical documentation, electrical certification and legalisation, while municipal procedures depend on the property and type of project. Additional requirements may apply to communities of owners or properties subject to specific planning conditions. KiDi Solar provides turnkey solar installation and can manage the technical documentation and legalisation associated with the photovoltaic system.

What size solar system do I need for a house or villa in Mijas?

The correct solar system size depends on annual electricity consumption, available roof space, orientation, shading and major electrical loads such as air conditioning, swimming pool pumps, heat pumps and electric vehicles. Every property is different, so the number of panels should be calculated individually. KiDi Solar analyses electricity bills and property conditions before recommending the appropriate solar capacity.

We installed solar panels with batteries at our house in Marbella a couple of months ago. Honestly, I spoke with a few companies before, but ended up choosing KiDi Solar — and it was the right decision. Everything was explained in a simple way (I’m not very technical), they helped us choose the right system, and the installation went smoothly. The team worked clean and finished faster than I expected. Now the best part — we already see the difference in the electricity bill, and we also feel more more calm knowing that we have backup power if there’s a blackout. Communication was easy, always quick replies, no stress. If you’re in Marbella or nearby and thinking about solar, I would definitely recommend Kidi-solar! Thank you guys!

I recently installed a 10kW solar system with Longi 550W panels in Mijas. I’m very satisfied with my choice – from consultation to installation everything went smoothly and professionally. The system works with a hybrid inverter and batteries, which allows me to use electricity even in the evenings. After the first month, I already noticed significant savings on my bills. True professionals!

I contacted this company and have not regretted it. My acquaintance was right, these guys are very punctual, very quickly did the installation of the panels that indicated on the pictures that are included in the file with the estimate, which also indicates the contract, prices and their obligations. Everything was done on time. Battery working good in the night. After the installation it was nice when they offered to make a discount, I did not understand how it is so, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you and good luck to you.
