When solar panels are under warranty, the owner is only required to monitor the power output parameters. If these are decreasing, or if the inverter shows a system error, it is sufficient to call in a service technician to rectify the problem.

However, there are a number of activities that owners should be the ones to perform while operating their solar panels.

In winter, the main problem is snow buildup. In heavy snowfall, snow buildup on the panels has to be dealt with manually, otherwise the electricity output will drop to a minimum.

Over time, the surface of the photomodules becomes dirty with dust, and if it does not rain for a long time, you have to wash it yourself with water from a hose.
Dispose of any debris adhering to the surface of the solar panel with a simple soft broom.

All these measures are aimed at ensuring that the light transmission capacity of the solar panels does not deteriorate, as a reduction in the level of sunlight received leads to a reduction in performance.

As far as solar panel maintenance is concerned, it consists of the following.

Regularly inspecting the solar cable for insulation damage and checking all its connections and the presence of a circuit in all contact groups.
Cleaning dust from the inverter. This is particularly relevant for models with a cooling system that is designed with a fan.

Check the tightness of bolted connections and the presence of corrosion on other metal fasteners.

In addition, it is sometimes necessary to check the reliability of the earthing devices. If the solar plant is equipped with batteries, their contact connections should be checked periodically for oxidation. If all these measures are taken, the solar panels are guaranteed to last as long as specified by the manufacturer.

It is important to avoid mechanical influences on the solar panels. This can lead to a breach of the sealing of the chambers in which the photovoltaic cells are housed. Moisture that penetrates through this will adversely affect the operation of the photovoltaic cells.
